Disclosures
Licensing, how we are paid, and what we don’t do.
These disclosures apply to every engagement and every page of this site, and are repeated in our engagement letters.
Who we are
Levelhead Business Advisors is a trading name of Levelhead Capital Pty Ltd (ABN 15 703 134 918). We are a business finance broking and advisory practice: we prepare business finance reviews, cashflow forecasts and projections, business plans and credit papers, and we arrange finance for businesses and their owners.
Business and consumer credit
Most finance we arrange is for business or investment purposes. Credit provided wholly or predominantly for business purposes sits outside the National Credit Code, so the consumer protections that apply to a home loan do not apply to those facilities, and a lender will ask you to sign a business purpose declaration.
Consumer credit, including home loans and residential investment lending, is provided by Nicholas Clunes through The Lending Lab, under the responsible lending obligations of the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009. Before providing consumer credit assistance you will receive a credit guide and the other documents the law requires.
How we are paid
Advisory fees are fixed, agreed in writing before the work starts, and payable whatever the lender decides and whatever the analysis concludes. Levelhead Partner retainers are quoted in writing after a scoping call.
Where a lender pays commission on a facility we arrange, it is paid to The Lending Lab Pty Ltd. Commission is not payable on every transaction and the amount is not always known when work is quoted. Any commission is disclosed to you in writing before you proceed.
You are free to take our documents to any lender or broker you choose, and the advisory fee is the same either way.
Scope of advice
We do not provide tax, legal, audit, assurance or financial product advice, and we do not advise on setting up or investing through a self-managed super fund. Nothing on this site or in our documents is a tax position, a legal opinion, investment advice or an offer of finance.
Tax positions belong with your registered tax agent, legal questions with your solicitor, and superannuation and investment questions with a licensed financial adviser. We will tell you when a matter needs them.
Basis of work
Our work is based on the information you, your advisers and any vendor provide. We test it for consistency and support each add-back with evidence, but it is not audited. Projections are estimates of future performance on stated assumptions, not forecasts we guarantee.
Credit decisions
We prepare and present the case; the lender makes the credit decision. Any indication of what a facility might look like is an estimate based on the information available at the time and on lender criteria that change without notice. Nothing we produce is an approval, a pre-approval or an offer of finance.
General information only
Content on this website is general information and does not take your objectives, financial situation or needs into account. Examples and client stories are illustrative; outcomes depend on individual circumstances and lender criteria. See also our terms of engagement, privacy policy and complaints process.
